š§¢ Coach T's Recap
Your insights are only as strong as the people behind them. We survey real people, quality-check every response and, in markets where we track more brands, blend several leading panel providers, so you can count on the data behind your tracking.
One of the most common questions we get at Tracksuit is š
"Where does your data come from?"
Itās a great question, and the short answer is your data comes from real people, surveyed through panel providers (the companies that recruit and manage the people who take surveys). Hereās how it works, and how we keep it high quality.
How we source respondents and protect quality
Depending on the markets you track, your sample comes from one or more leading panel providers, where each provider is tested before itās added in. In markets where we blend several leading panel providers, you get a bigger pool of respondents and a more representative read of your market. Think of it like getting your news: you read a few different newspapers for the full story, but you check each one is a publication worth trusting. We do the same with our panel providers.
How we keep it representative
Quotas on age, gender and region (and ethnicity in the US) so respondents match your market. We call that nationally representative, or ānatrepā.
Respondents are screened into your category based on purchase behaviour.
Results are weighted to census population counts before they reach your dashboard.
How we protect quality
Quality checks run at every stage, from before a provider joins to before a response reaches your dashboard.
Choosing panel providers: every provider is tested on quality, consistency and how many people it can reliably reach before we use it, and monitored as we go.
While people answer: panel providers screen their own respondents, and we run our own checks too. These include an in-house engagement check and AI-powered quality scoring that looks at things like speed, answer patterns and the quality of written answers.
Before your dashboard: responses that fail a check are removed before analysis, so they never count towards your sample size.
FAQs
Why use more than one panel provider?
In markets where we track more brands and need more respondents, we draw on several leading panel providers. This widens the range of people we reach whilst still giving you dependable monthly samples and a representative read of your market.
How do you keep results consistent when we use several panel providers?
The same quotas and weighting apply across every provider in a market. We then adjust for known differences between panels, so when your brand funnel moves, itās your brand moving.
Which panel providers do you use?
We use leading panel providers, each tested before we use it. How many sit behind your data depends on your market, from one to several. Your Brand Champ can walk you through how yours is sourced.
How do I know the sample is representative?
Quotas on age, gender and region (and ethnicity in the US) shape who we recruit, and weighting to census population counts corrects any remaining gap. You can see how many people have responded on the Methodology page in your dashboard. How do Tracksuitās sample size indicators work?
